The Chicken Farming Development (CFD)
The long-term objective is that the CFD will contribute greatly towards poverty reduction, self-employment and nutritional enhancement for disadvantaged families in the Banteay Meas and Chum Kiri districts, Kampot Province. Beneficiaries joined a half day training on poultry farming, management and maintenance, run by the CCAF community development staff, who have three years experience in supporting families and training CFD. After training, each beneficiary provided five hens and one rooster, and a small grant to build the chicken pen. Supporting addition, the beneficiaries contributed materials to build the roof and some parts of the pen’s frame. After an appropriate time, the beneficiary returned six chickens or money to the project extend the target group.

Basic Agricultural Training
The purpose of this activity is to provide new skills to a target group through utilizing Effective Micro-organism (EM) technology. CCAF team work with the training provider (The Neary Khmer Association for Health and Vocational Training) to train beneficiaries on how to produce EM fertilizer. The training is conducted at the communities for a period of two days. After training, farmers had the skills to produce organic fertilizer for use with their cultivation, home gardening, to treat all kinds of fruit trees, poultry and livestock. As a result, yields must be increased, the health of poultry and livestock is improved and the families’ poverty is reduced.
