Strengthening Preschool Education in Kampong Laeng
Strengthening Preschool Education in Kampong Laeng
On 26–27 February 2026, the Cambodian Children’s Advocacy Foundation Organization (CCAFO), in collaboration with the Kampong Laeng District Office of Education, Youth and Sport, successfully conducted a two-day in-house training on Preschool Classroom Development Planning.
A total of 52 preschool teachers participated in the training, including 27 state preschool teachers and 25 community preschool teachers from across Kampong Laeng District.
During the training, teachers learned practical approaches to improve classroom organization, develop learning corners, and prepare classroom development plans that support children’s learning and development. The sessions also provided opportunities for teachers to share experiences and explore creative ways to use locally available materials to improve the learning environment in their classrooms.
To measure the effectiveness of the training, a knowledge assessment was conducted with the participating teachers. The assessment used a scoring system with a maximum of 14 points and classified participants into three knowledge levels: low, moderate, and high.
The results showed that 44 teachers achieved a high level of knowledge, scoring between 12 and 14 points. Six teachers demonstrated a moderate level of knowledge, with scores ranging from 10 to 11 points, while two teachers were classified in the low knowledge category, scoring below 9.5 points.
These findings indicate that the training significantly strengthened teachers’ understanding of classroom development planning and preschool standards. With improved knowledge and practical skills, teachers are better equipped to create supportive learning environments that promote young children’s development and school readiness.
CCAFO is grateful for the continued collaboration with the local education authorities and partners who support efforts to strengthen early childhood education in Cambodia.
